The staff are very helpful, the rooms are very nicely appointed, hotel is located blocks from Vatican City, and within easy walking distance from all of Rome. Room price is great, and there is a good selection of room sizes and acoutrements to satisfy all travelers. Worth staying at. Can communicate with staff in English at a reasonable level, which is not the case in all hotels in Italia. Our stay was wonderful. The staff were great (especially Mylee). We would definitely recommend this hotel to couples of all ages. The sound of accordians filtering through the open windows was magic and quite surreal. Soundproof windows when closed made sleeping easy. Ideally located and not hard to find. Overall a wonderful place to stay. Loved the authentic period setting of the hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room had lots of old features and was spacious and clean. The Residenza had lots of character, especcially the breakfast/rest/reading rooms. This was NOT a pleasant stay for our family! The rooms were tiny, not ready when we arrived, dirty (mold and dust), and we heard every little sound from our neighbors. It is not quiet!! I know that when you come to Rome, you aren't meant to stay in your room obviously, but the entire night through there were loud noises and sounds, keeping my entire family awake. The breakfast was very very poor, and the staff was unfriendly to us! The only plus was its location, near the Spanish steps and a long shopping street, but those things have nothing to do with our terrible stay and service at Frattina. Also, most of the negative comments on this site are deleted, as to improve the overall rating and comments. Please PLEASE do not stay at Frattina. The room was very nice and we couldn't have asked for more. All the staff were very polite and most helpful. Breakfast was lovely near the shuttered windows overlooking the street and plenty of it of choice. The Hotel is ideally situated for sightseeing and we used the underground and trams to get around but you could walk easily. We found we came back to the Hotel around lunch and again before dinner to shower and put our feet up as it was very hot when we went to Rome and we were glad of the Hotels nearness to everything so we could do this. Take lots of cash as Rome is expensive but worth every penny! Enjoy yourselves!
